“I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings”. (Jer 17:10 KJV).

God almighty is all knowing, all seeing and ever present. There is nothing hidden from him.
He knows our most secret thoughts.
He can never be deceived.
He is not a man that he should lie.
It is important that we follow him sincerely and honestly because we cannot hide from him.

When we promise God in our time of need that we will change if he does so and so for us, he already knows if we are being sincere or not.
Sometimes we say it thinking we are deceiving God, but we are only deceiving ourselves because he already knows the end from the very beginning.
“declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure“. (Isaiah 46:10 KJV).

Being aware that God sees and knows our most secret thoughts, it is the more reason to obey him and not try to hide or pretend.
David understood this very well when he said in psalm 139,
“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there“. (Psalm 139:7‭-‬8 KJV).

I pray that from today you will understand that nothing is hidden from God and embrace him like you would, your best friend and share everything with him even the most embarrassing things that you dare not share with anyone. He knows them already anyway, so by opening up to him you are asking him for help to avoid them in the future.
