“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world”. (1 John 2:15‭-‬16 KJV).

Love not the world, nor the things of the world. Seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness. The world with all it’s enticements will pass away, what will matter in the end is our relationship with Jesus Christ.


We are in the world but we are not of the world. (Jn 15:29, 17:16).


It does not mean that we cannot enjoy the resources which God has provided for us, it simply means we do not get engrossed in wealth acquisition and forget what matters most which is our soul.

We are to seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness and every other thing will be added unto us. God the father knows our needs and will always provide for us. All we need do is trust him absolutely and obey his word, he will surely meet us at the point of our need.

The Bible says in, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matt 16:26 KJV).

May God almighty increase our faith in him to believe in his word and trust him wholeheartedly through his Son Jesus Christ.
