“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”.
Revelation 21: 4 KJV.
Our God is awesome indeed. Consider his great promises of eternal life to us his children.
My husband always says, eternity is not 100 or 200 years, not even a thousand years but it is forever and ever and ever and ever.
I attended a funeral of a dear friend recently and the preacher was echoing the ever so familiar words of my husband and added that eternity is not a billion years or even a trillion years, it is forever!
Each time I read of the promises of God, I’m highly motivated to seek God more and to remain in his love.
I have gone through a lot of pain and suffering in this life that I ask myself what else can I suffer now that will make me lose faith in God? In all my pain and sufferings, God has proven himself a mighty Deliverer, and I am eternally grateful that I have Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior.
Like Paul in Rom 8:35, 38-39, I say,
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
Whatever I have gone through in this world cannot be compared to the suffering of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for us sinners when he knew no sin.
I look forward with excitement to the great place Jesus has gone to prepare for us, as he said,
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. John 14:2-3 KJV.
Paul said in 1Cor 2:9, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”.
To be in God’s presence forever, worshipping and praising him forever is a thing of great joy to look forward to.
Where there will be no more pain, no more stress, no sickness, no disease, no sorrow, no crying, no worries, no death.
Everything will be perfect. All we have to do is worship God in peace and joy.
What a great promise to look forward to. Alleluia!
Many times we have read in the Bible that the Lord is coming soon at an hour which we don’t know,
“Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not”. Luke 12:40 KJV.
Like a thief in the night,
“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night”. 1 Thess 5:2 KJV.
The question is, how are we getting ready for his coming?
This is not about physical preparation but rather spiritual preparation.
We need to have our hearts and minds ready, get rid of anything that is not pleasing to God, like unforgiveness, gossip, lies, hatred, false accusations, fornication, adultery, robbery, anger, murder to mention but a few.
Gal 5: 19-23, contain a list of vices that stem from the work of the flesh and virtues, that are fruit of the Spirit, it would be good to check them out.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.
In order to enter and enjoy the promises of God, we must avoid sin by all means trusting absolutely on the grace of almighty God.
Jesus himself said, in Matt 18:8-9, if your hand or foot should cause you to sin, you should cut it off or if your eye should cause you to sin, pluck it out, it is better to enter eternal life disfigured or disabled than have all those things and end up in hell, ie. everlasting fires.
This is a serious statement from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, what it really means is run from sin as far as you can, once you recognize it as sin, do not entertain it at all, do not give it a second thought, run for your dear life, if you associate with individuals who are living in sin and you are hoping to convert them but instead they are dragging you into sin, and from time to time you find yourself committing sin due to wrong association, run away and keep them in your prayers always. Once you have planted the seed of the word of God in their lives, continue to pray for them, salvation comes from the Lord not from us humans, it is the Holy Spirit that brings conviction and repentance.
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it”. Matt 7:14 KJV.
As Jesus said in the above Scriptures, the way to eternal life is narrow and the gate is straight, that means no baggage allowed only you and the life you have lived here on earth will enter, so every weight and baggage must be laid down at the foot of the cross.
That’s why he said through Peter,
Cast all your cares upon him for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 KJV.
We must give account to God how we lived here and what we did with the gifts and talents he gave us.
Let’s strive to enter through the straight and narrow gate into the eternal promises of God where he will wipe away every tears from our eyes.
God bless you. Shalom!
Reading through this, I just kept hearing that old song… “What a Day That Will Be” ❤
