For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12 KJV.
This verse is important to me because many times we see things happening or we hear of things happening and we are tempted to jump into action immediately and we become emotional, some things might need immediate intervention but others may need some reflection, deep thinking before springing into action.
If we know the type of enemy we are dealing with and understand his strategies then we will be in a better position to plan our own counter attack or confrontation as the case may be.
The above verse says, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers….., it is worth knowing that these principalities and powers are invisible to the naked eyes, it is a spiritual warfare, it is not a fist fight, this type of fight is best fought on our knees on a daily basis.
When Jesus walked the earth, he spent most of his time praying to the father. He did not wait until he was confronted with a problem before he prayed. He did not wait until he saw a blind man or a leper and say wait let me go and pray first and come back to heal you, No! He was always in prayer, always communicating with the Father and as a result he was endured with power in every area of his life and ministry and performed great signs and wonders.
Why are we not seeing greater works that Jesus talked about in John 14: 12?
Because our prayer lives are lacking fire and anointing, and consistency. We are on fire today, we achieve victory over the enemy and we relax tomorrow celebrating one victory and the enemy in his subtility comes back with vengeance. Read Luke 11:26
A lot of Christians wait until problem arises before they remember to pray, some don’t even remember to pray until they have complained and gotten tired of complaining or until someone tells them to pray about it.
Prayer is the key to success, it’s the key that opens doors locked by the enemy, it is the key that breaks barriers and moves mountains.
Prayer is the key that destroys sickness and disease.
Prayer is a powerful tool that the father has given us through his son Jesus Christ.
I don’t know what your prayer life is like today. Perhaps it’s time for an upgrade. Try being consistent, as Paul said in,
1 Thess 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”.
Try combining prayer with fasting, if you’re not doing that already.
Resist the devil through prayer and he will flee, James 4:7. After you submit yourself to God.
Remember our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our great example, fasted forty days and forty nights.
Murmuring and complaining will not get us any where.
Go on your knees today, repent of your sins and cry out to God almighty. He is waiting to hear from you.
God bless you in Jesus mighty name.
